Abstract. Accurate positioning of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in space necessitates new approaches to autonomous navigation and the protection of externally corrected data from external measurement sources. This paper presents an overview of the evolution of radio-inertial-satellite navigation systems with external corrections, focusing on the latest advancements in the design of “deep” integration schemes. The future directions for their development and practical application are also discussed.
